HoYoverse has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2, titled “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night“, will launch on September 4, 2025. This update will kick off new story developments, introducing new members to the Obol Squad Faction, a gaming peripherals collaboration, events, and more.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 begins with story development, characters, and gameplay
Following the Exaltists’ defeat in the previous version, the Defense Force has deployed the Obol Squad to intervene in New Eridu’s ongoing conflicts. You’ll now get to meet the new agents who brings unique combat styles and syngeries to your team.
Under the leadership of Major General Lorenz and Colonel Isolde, the Obol Squad’s involvement intensifies the power struggles on Waifei Peninsula, introduced in the Version 2.0 update, offering you the chance to uncover hidden truths and explore the mysterious past of Seed and the inner world.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 brings two powerful new S-Tier agents and the return of two fan-favorite characters.
1. Seed
Seed, an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent, is a brilliant mechanic that transforms the Seed Sr. mecha into a powerhouse capable of overwhelming firepower and suppression. She works best with other Attack agents, enhancing sustained damage across your squad.
2. Orphie & Magus
Joining her is Orphie & Magus, an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent and Obol Squad’s captain, who excels at coordinated team combat with her powerful lasers.
With her EX Special Attack, you can not only support allies but also place the entire squad in the Zeroed In state by accumulating Bottled Heat. It boosts Attack and allows the Aftershocks to bypass portions of the enemy’s Defense.
3. Mercury
Along with them, Mercury, an S-Rank Bangboo, who operates a tank as combat support on the battlefield, is also arriving in the game. Oh, and for Version 2.2, fan-favorites like S-Rank Electric Stun Agent Trigger and S-Rank Fire Attack Agent Evelyn will be returning to the game.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.2 brings new events
In the upcoming Version 2.2 update, you can also look forward to engaging in-game events, like the Bangboo tower defense event, Band of Brave Bangboo, which features new maps, enemies, and mechanics such as bushes and Miasmic environment.
By completing stages, you’ll receive the A-Rank Excaliboo, a Bangboo who wields a holy sword or hammer depending on the outcome of his pre-attack action. For instance, a successful attempt to draw the holy sword leads to powerful sword strikes, while failure results in determined hammer attacks.
Aside from this event, to provide you with a lighter rhythm-based experience, the game is introducing the Rhythm Rave event, which challenges you to sync beats with classic tracks to earn abundant rewards.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
On the quality-of-life side, HoYoverse has also implemented optimizations to improve your overall experience. You can now select between Bele or Wise when you start companion events like Quality Time invites.
Zenless Zone Zero x Razer collaboration brings gaming peripherals and rewards
Another exciting part is that Zenless Zone Zero has teamed up with Razer, introducing its first full gaming peripherals collaboration, which is live now. This exclusive collaboration is themed around the beloved character Miyabi and includes the following products, along with bonus in-game rewards:
