Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1 “The Impending Crash of Waves” update will release on July 16, 2025

HoYoverse has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1, titled “The Impending Crash of Waves“, will launch on July 16, 2025. This summer-themed update will kick off Season 2 Chapter 2, bringing in new content, two regions, a new faction, various events, and more.

Season 2 Chapter 2 begins with two new regions and a storyline

ZZZ’s Version 2.1 will let you explore two new regions, Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort. The first region, Sailume Bay, is located beneath Failume Heights and will become the main setting for Chapter 2’s narrative. Here, Porcelumex will lead important investigations to address the chaos caused by the Exaltists.

Among the team is Alice Thymefield, a noble descendant of the prestigious Thymefield family. She will later join the new Spook Spark faction. Meanwhile, Fantasy Resort will introduce a relaxing and vibrant holiday location filled with sandy beaches, coconut trees, summer activities, and mysterious stories.

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1 update will feature two new S-tier agents with 2 Reruns

Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.1 brings two powerful new S-Tier agents and the return of two fan-favorite characters.

1. Ukinami Yuzuha

Ukinami Yuzuha, an S-Rank Physical Support Agent, uses her tanuki sidekick, Kama, to toss candy bombs that help your allies accumulate Anomaly Buildup faster. Her Sweet Scare ability adjusts to the active agent’s element through Flavor Match, boosts Anomaly Buildup, and triggers Aftershock attacks.

2. Alice Thymefield

Alice Thymefield joins as an S-Rank Physical Anomaly Agent, who uses refined sword techniques and unique Blade Etiquette mechanics to enhance her attacks. By consuming these Blade Etiquette points, you can deal powerful strikes that increase both Assault and Disorder damage.

3. Miss Esme

Along with them, Miss Esme, an S-Rank Bangboo with support abilities, is also arriving in the game. Previous fan-favorites like Void Hunter Miyabi and Yanagi will also be rerun in this version’s banners.

Summer activities, beach events, outfits, and more

The Fantasy Resort storyline gives you a chance to help restore a faded seaside paradise. You can team up with Spook Shack to bring it back to life via a variety of fun beach activities, including surfing challenges, yacht-based shooting games, and scenic sea tours.

What’s better is that you can look forward to new fishing spots, with new species and better interactions. You’ll get to enjoy a more relaxing and rewarding fishing experience, with less grinding. On top of all these, summer-themed outfits will also be available, like Wise’s Peaceful Waves, Belle’s Summer Skies, Ukinami Yuzuha’s Tanuki in Broad Daylight, and Alice’s Sea of Thyme.

A new Bangboo Auto Battler event, En-Nah Chess Legend, is also coming, including a PvP mode. Plus, the Simulated Battle Trial is also getting a new scoring system. Other events include Tales of Midsummer Dreams, Ghost Ship Adventure, JoJo’s Space Mystery, and Failume Summer Puzzle.

To celebrate the update, the game is offering you to claim 1,600 Polychromes during Version 2.1. This update will also bring gameplay optimization for a smoother, more enjoyable experience.
