Wuthering Waves Version 2.6 update, known as ‘By Sun’s Scourge, By Moon’s Revelation’, will release on the 28th of August 2025. The update features new resonators, main questlines, echoes, weapons, locations, and more. In this article, I’ll break down all the key highlights so that you know what’s coming soon.
Before we dive in, take a moment to explore everything introduced in the version 2.5 update. As the version has already rolled out, I hope you enjoyed all the updates.
New Resonators and Resonator Convene will be available
The very first things we expect to see are new resonators. There will be two new five-star resonators: Augusta and Luno.
Along with them, there will be two phases of resonators convened in the version 2.6 update. Here’s the upcoming resonator convenes:
Phase I
- Eternal Radiance on the Crown (Augusta）
- When Silence Tolls (Carlotta)
- Till the Sea Turns Clear (The Shorekeeper)
Phase II
- Across Time’s Waxes and Wanes (Iuno)
- Through Verses and Rhythms (Ciaccona)
Wuthering Waves Version 2.6 Update brings new Main Quest and Location
Besides the resonators, there will be a new location named Sanguis Plateaus for you to explore and check out. With a glazing blue light and dark-themed tracks, the new location is as cool as you expect from the game.
This location will be an extended storyline of Rinascita and Septimont. To give you more room to move and enjoy a fresh story, there will be two new story quests for Main Quest Chapter II. They are as follows:
- Main Quest Chapter II Act VIII: By Sun’s Burning Hand
- Main Quest Chapter II Act IX: By Moon’s Fated Light
WuWa Version 2.6 Update brings new Weapons, Echoes, and Sonata Effect
New Weapons
There will be three new weapons. They are:
- Thunderflare Dominion
- Moongazer’s Sigil
- Hunter’s Growl Series
And, weapons to be added for the upcoming update are:
Phase I
- Thunderflare Dominion
- The Last Dance
- Stellar Symphony
Phase II
- Moongazer’s Sigil
- Woodland Aria
New Echoes
Following the update trend, the game introduces new echoes and sonata effects as well. Take a look at what the latest version will bring. Here’s a list of the new echoes:
- The False Sovereign

- Nightmare: Gulpuff
- Nightmare: Chirpuff
- Nightmare: Cyan Feathered Heron

New Phantom Echoes
- Phantom: Fallacy of No Return
- Phantom: Kerasaur
Sonata Effects
Sonata Effects are the set bonuses in Wuthering Waves and provide a variety of useful stat bonuses.
- Crown of Valor (3pcs Set): Upon gaining a Shield, increase the Resonator’s ATK by 6% and Crit. DMG by 4% for 4s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and stacks up to 5 times.
- Law of Harmony (3pcs Set): Casting Echo Skill grants 30% Heavy Attack DMG Bonus to the caster for 4s. Additionally, all Resonators in the team gain 4% Echo Skill DMG Bonus for 30s, stacking up to 4 times. Echoes of the same name can only trigger this effect once. The record of Echo triggering this effect is cleared along with this effect. At 4 stacks, casting Echo Skill again resets the duration of this effect.

New Event arriving with WuWa Version 2.6 Update
The game is also introducing a new event named Gifts of the Moon Roamer. It will start on the 17th of September and will run till the 8th of October. You will simply log in during the event to earn the following rewards:
- 10x Radiant Tide and 10x Forging Tide

Optimizations coming with the Wuthering Waves Version 2.6 update
Apart from the main content, WuWa’s version 2.6 update is also bringing several optimizations to improve your gameplay experience. Here’s a look at the key improvements:
Utility: Flight
You will press the Flight Button in any open space to ascend and start flying, without the need to rely on elevated terrain. Flights will be available in Jinzhou and the Black Shores regions.
Updated Permanent Events
The game has optimized the main page and lineup page for the Fantasies of the Thousand Gateways event. It has also added New Metaphors and categorized them. Besides, the Lucid Dream state is replaced by the Divined Dream state. When Dreamscape Energy is full, the Divined Dream state can be activated manually.
The Hazard Tower in the Tower of Adversity event gets two floor updates, with more rewards available. The Overdrive Zone will become available when the Stable and Experiment Zones are cleared, without needing to clear the Hazard Zone first.
There’s another update on the Whimpering Wastes event, which is the Burning Waves. Instead of triggering at fixed enemy waves, Burning Waves can now be activated by accumulating “Ember” through combat actions.
The Tower of Adversity and Whimpering Wastes now have the Record Sync feature. Each cycle refresh will now automatically clear certain Floors based on the progress made in the previous cycle. There will be more details soon.
Exploration Experience
You can now detect Mineral collection spots on your map, and the detection range of the Lootmapper has been extended. The title added a tracking feature for specific exploration quests in Jinzhou, including Viewpoints, Blobflies, and Frostbugs. You can now track them from the exploration progress page and enjoy a smoother exploration experience.
Gallery
A new Weapons category has been added to the Gallery. You can view the details of weapons and weapon projections available in the game.
Interface
The game added one-click collection across most of the pages that list claimable rewards, including Guidebook, Data Bank levels, and the majority of events. Click any Claim button on the reward page to claim all available rewards on that page.
Graphics Performance
Version 2.6 update will extend frame generation support on PC to more graphics cards. There are other graphics updates as well, and you will know them from the upcoming official announcements.
