Pocket Play Studio has announced their upcoming next-gen turn-based RPG, Toria, set to release at the end of June 2025. This is also the studio’s first title, developed by a team of seasoned devs, and is currently in development for both Android and iOS.

Toria is a fantasy RPG that blends a rich storyline, puzzles, and strategic turn-based combat. In this game, you play as a mercenary leader exploring Toria’s vast world, searching for wealth, glory, and hidden truths about the land and its people.
What sets the game apart is its dynamic world design. Instead of endless grinding or predictable quests, you’ll encounter unexpected events and branching paths, letting you experience each playthrough feel unique. While it’s marketed as next-gen, I didn’t find many features that justify it.
One thing I love about the game is its well-animated world map, split into distinct adventure areas like Flooded Mine, Gopla Swamps, and more. Plus, each area has its own randomly generated map that reveals itself as you travel, meaning no two runs are the same, even within the same region.
Engage in turn-based combat, collect intriguing characters, and more
I’m looking forward to its 3D turn-based combat system, with battles ranging from 1v1 to 6v6. I feel the gameplay will be fun, letting you use attacks like DOTS, buffs, and debuffs to win. Honestly, the characters also look intriguing, each with unique lore, personal goals, hidden abilities, and more.
Overall, Toria looks promising, from diverse cities, challenging expeditions, tactical combat, treasure-filled dungeons, puzzles, elite bosses, characters like barbarians, archers, and more. I am looking forward to the release day and excited to see what’s in store for us.
