- Supercell is bringing Brawl Stars and Clash Royale to WeChat as installation-free mini games.
- Clash Royale’s mini game version is set to launch exclusively on WeChat in September 2025.
- More Supercell titles like Clash of Clans, mo.co, and Squad Busters could follow in the future.
Supercell is all set to introduce some of the blockbuster titles directly into Tencent’s all-in-one messaging app, WeChat. The idea is to have an installation-free minigame system implemented, and at the time of writing, Brawl Stars has already been added to WeChat, while Clash Royale is in the works.
Tencent aims to grow WeChat’s mini game ecosystem, which already has over 500 million monthly users
The mini game version of Clash Royale is scheduled to launch exclusively on WeChat this September 2025, as reported by the South China Morning Post. These versions will be installation-free, meaning you can jump into the action without having to download anything extra.

Supercell Business and Operations Lead for Clash of Clans, Jakub Barczyk, confirmed the availability of Brawl Stars last week, while mentioning the status of Clash Royale as “currently being developed“.
This is part of Tencent’s larger plan to grow the WeChat mini game ecosystem, which has already attracted over 500 million monthly players. By introducing top Supercell titles as quick-play experiences inside WeChat, Tencent is hoping to make mobile gaming even more accessible.
Supercell’s approach is also focused on smooth syncing, so existing players can pick up right where they left off, while new players can easily get started. With Tencent having the majority stake in the Finnish developer, this transition would be easy since the Chinese Tech giant also has publishing duties of the titles, while having Chinese versions of the games.
More installation-free mini-games would benefit a lot of players
Tencent is betting big on WeChat’s fast-growing mini games and video features to drive future growth. Supercell, which made nearly $3 billion in 2024, continues to be one of Tencent’s strongest assets. With Supercell’s titles, this is surely going to be huge.

For now, these two games have been confirmed, although Clash of Clans is a big addition if they develop the mini-game version of the game. With new titles from Supercell, such as mo.co and Squad Busters, coming to the fray, WeChat users surely can look forward to more.
However, as for global audiences, I hope we see more of these initiatives. We already have these quick-to-play platforms, such as Google’s Instant Games and YouTube’s Playables. More of these platforms that support installation-free gameplay would be a huge boost to the mobile gaming space.
