Supercell announces Netflix series based on the Clash Universe

Huge news!

Story Highlights
  • Supercell teams up with Netflix for a Clash animated series.
  • The series is currently in pre-production, with more updates to come.
  • The announcement follows Supercell's recruitment for a film and TV executive.

Supercell is finally bringing the Clash universe to TV screens. The creators of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale have announced a new animated series in partnership with Netflix. The show has already been greenlit and is in early production, although detailed information is still under wraps.

This move doesn’t come out of the blue, though. Just last month, Supercell posted a job listing for a Senior Film and TV Development Executive, hinting that they were serious about exploring stories beyond mobile games.

The story possibilities Supercell can create with the Netflix series are endless

With that particular announcement, they made it clear they weren’t just adapting their games. Instead focused on world-building, a fresh take that could help them turn Clash into something much bigger. It’s also a smart time for Supercell to jump into entertainment.

Other mobile game franchises like Angry Birds and Minecraft have already turned into full-blown movies, and they did well. Clash has a huge cast of fun and iconic characters, and even though there’s no big story in the games, fans already love the mini animations like Clash-A-Rama.

Now, the curiosity lies in the storylines. Who’s going to be the protagonist? Apart from the Goblin King, who else would fit the villain role? Maybe something surrounding where the Goblins from the village support this and move to his troops? Lot of questions, indeed.

Well, I’m thinking of a thriller, something that would fit the game’s genre, where there’s this ‘battle of the titans’ type, but it could be romance too, I totally dig it. Imagine Archer Queen and the Barbarian King romancing? Sounds fun, but I’m sure the Grand Warden would be heartbroken.

Just like I mentioned earlier, while there aren’t many details yet, fans have been asking for something like this for years, and now it’s finally happening. With Netflix behind them, this new show could be the next big hit in game-to-screen adaptations.
