Once Human Mobile to get Controller Support soon, confirms NetEase Games

A bit late, but we are getting it soon!

Story Highlights
  • Once Human is a multiplayer open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world, infected by Stardust.
  • It launched on mobile on April 24, but it didn’t include controller support, which disappointed many fans.
  • While there’s no official release date announced yet, controller support is coming soon.

NetEase Games has revealed that their open-world actionsurvival title, Once Human, is getting mobile controller support soon. The game launched this month, after an early access in Canada in 2021, and various closed beta testing phases, with the most recent one held in February 2025 for mobile.

Once Human is officially available on mobile, with controller support arriving soon

Once Human is an open-world, multiplayer survival title that is set in a post-apocalyptic world infected by an extraterrestrial substance called Stardust. In this game, you play as a Meta-Human, with the ability to harness this substance’s power, allowing you to fight and rebuild the world, or simply rule it.

The game is very enjoyable, letting you explore a 256 km² seamless map across various terrains, including frozen tundras, active volcanoes, and more. On top of that, you can also build your base in this wilderness, store your loot, and defend it using weapons and traps. You can also gather deviation pals.

Now, what’s more exciting is that the devs have confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter) about Controller support on mobile, when a fan requested it. They revealed, “We’re already working on mobile controller support, and it will be released soon.”

The game is also bringing a variety of content along with this

This is great news, as fans weren’t happy about not having controller support at launch. Some complained about it, while others didn’t like the touchscreen controls. While it would have been great if they added it with the launch, it’s nice that they are bringing it soon, though no release date has been revealed.

I believe you should wait for it, considering a lot more content is coming, as revealed in their 2025 Development Roadmap. Along with the controller support, you can look forward to various scenarios, like Code: Broken, Deviation, and Purification, Visional Wheels, and a crossover event in late 2025.
