NetEase Games has launched a Closed Beta test (CBT) for their upcoming monster taming MMORPG, Spirit Beast Adventure, on mobile in China, live until May 10, 2025. Approved in China back on February 21, the game is now available for reservation via Wandoujia, 9game, or NetEase MuMu emulator.
Get ready to capture Chinese Spirit Beasts and enjoy strategic battles
Spirit Beast Adventure, formerly known as Codename Spirit Beast Chapter, is a vertical turn-based MMO that blends monster taming with strategic combat. You’ll be able to capture over 100 mythical spirit beasts, train and evolve them through fusion and upgrades, and engage in tactical battles.
As someone who loved Chinese mythology since I was a kid, I’ll be thrilled to collect mythical beasts like the Monkey King and, Nine-tailed Fox, to name a few. Each beast can have up to 4 basic skills, which you can further increase to 6 after advancement, plus powerful passives for better gameplay.
Join a major sect and construct Chinese-style buildings
You can also choose from one of the five major sects: Demon King Village, Fangcun Mountain, Tiangong, Pansidian Cave, and Hell, each with its unique combat styles. But honestly speaking, I am also somewhat excited to construct traditional, Chinese-style buildings, with the help of your spirit beasts.
Looking at the trailer, it shows great promise. If they can replicate that in the original game, with its stunning traditional Chinese art style, lightweight design, various factions, tactical matchmaking, trading, team dungeons, and casual idle elements, it could be a great game.
Spirit Beast Adventure has launched a closed beta test on mobile in China, which is live until May 10, 2025. You can also reserve for the game via Wandoujia, 9game, or NetEase MuMu emulator. The specific public beta time hasn’t been announced yet. Check out their Weibo account for more details.
