NantGames has rolled out a major update for their geolocation fantasy RPG, MythWalker, bringing a new Tethering feature that allows real-time co-op gameplay, along with a lot of content. This is the studio’s debut title, which launched in October 2024, following a CBT in November 2023 on mobile.
Dive into MythWalker and experience the new Tethering feature
If you haven’t heard of MythWalker, it is a fantasy RPG that blends real-world exploration with the parallel world, Mytherra. In this game, you play as a Mythwalker, guided by a powerful being called The Child, as you investigate the attacks, explore the link between the two worlds, and lead the heroes.
Now, back to the update, it has introduced the Tethering feature. With this, you can team up with two friends and explore the world with them, no matter where you are from. Now, for example, you live in Amsterdam, and your friends stay far away from you in Sydney and London.
The feature lets them tether to your location and explore Amsterdam together with you in real time. You can also complete various quests, fight enemies, and even gather resources as a group, as if you guys were there together in real time.
Encounter three kinds of Wyldevae and explore the new quests related to them
As cool as that is, this update doesn’t just stop with this groundbreaking feature. With it, a new group of adversaries called Wyldevae has joined the game. These creatures are known tricksters, and there are three unique kinds you can look out for, each dropping unique items and abilities when you beat them.
You will discover Bergavae that resemble moths in mountain regions, while Strandavae take after fish, and are present on islands, and Fennavae, which resemble dragonflies, inhabit Swamps. Plus, you can clear new quests related to them, which provide lore and motive behind these deadly creatures.
