realfun studio has announced the launch of their social rural life sim, Morikomori Life, now available on Android and iOS in Japan. The game was originally released in China by Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, but was discontinued around this time last year.
Immerse yourself in wholesome pastoral activities and peaceful village living
Morikomori Life is a cozy, slice-of-life farming sim set in the peaceful village of Komori. You play as Kaon, who returns to her childhood hometown after receiving a letter from Grandma. You can experience healing, pastoral life, while farming, fishing, cooking, hunting, and more.
What instantly caught my attention was the mesmerizing Ghibli-inspired art style and the beautifully crafted Japanese village, brought to life with 3D toon shading. As someone who grew up watching anime and loves Japan, I’m very excited to explore the serene, open world Japanese landscapes this title offers.
Gameplay-wise, you can do a lot of stuff, like you can prepare the land and grow crops, gather various ingredients to cook delicious dishes, and venture out to find rare materials by chopping trees, mining iron ores, or just exploring. I love all the slice-of-life elements of the game.
Personalize your character, meet various other characters, and form bonds
The core of the game revolves around farming and social relationships. As you progress, you’ll encounter new characters, form bonds, and help them out. And if you enjoy character customization like me, you’ll love it here, as you can make your unique character, even adding cute whiskers.
I am looking forward to building and decorating my own Japanese-style home, upgrading it, and experiencing everything this beautiful world has to offer, once it launches globally. With its blend of calm gameplay, anime visuals, open world, and customization, the game looks like a wholesome experience.
Morikomori Life is now available on Android and iOS in Japan, and you can download the game from the Google Play Store and App Store.
