KRAFTON and EA reportedly in the race to develop ICC’s official mobile cricket game

Huge developments!

Story Highlights
  • ICC aims to launch an official mobile cricket game to boost digital revenues.
  • Krafton, EA Sports, Dream11, and Nazara among the companies showing strong interest.

The International Cricket Council’s (ICC) plans to develop its own mobile cricket game are gaining serious momentum. After calling for expressions of interest (EOI) back in June, the global cricket body has attracted several big names in the gaming industry.

ICC aims to create a top-tier cricket experience on mobile

According to sources familiar with the matter, as reported by The Economic Times, those reportedly in the mix include KRAFTON, EA Sports, Dream11, and Nazara Technologies. Other names in the mix are JetSynthesys and MPL, each eyeing a chance to partner with the ICC on what could become a blockbuster title for cricket fans.

The idea behind the game is clear: to create a top-tier mobile experience that taps into cricket’s massive global following, particularly in regions like India, where the mobile gaming market is valued at over $3.8 billion. With broadcast revenue growth showing signs of slowing, the ICC is exploring new digital opportunities.

The EOI phase has now wrapped up as of June 27, 2025, and a shortlist is expected soon. Selected developers will be invited to the next stage: a formal tender process where they’ll present detailed proposals, budgets, and creative visions. But the path ahead isn’t without hurdles.

Existing cricket titles like WCC3Dream Cricket, which is by Dream11 makers themselves, and Real Cricket already dominate the charts, and the titles in this sport are just increasing in numbers. To stand out, the ICC’s game will need not just official branding but genuine innovation and polish.

Still, with top-tier talent circling the project, the potential is high. Neither KRAFTON nor EA don’t have a cricket title, so this is a huge opportunity to expand their player base. In the right hands, this ICC mobile game could redefine how fans experience cricket, and hoping we get to experience some major new game modes as well.
