Infinity Nikki has issued a formal apology and acknowledged the issues with the Version 1.5 update

Infinity Nikki, a dress-up adventure title and the fifth entry in the beloved Nikki series, made its debut on December 5, 2024, following its global closed beta test on mobile and PC. This title quickly caught the hype train, garnering nearly $15 million in revenue during its launch month alone.

Everything was going smoothly until the super hyped Version 1.5 update dropped on April 29, also coinciding with the game’s launch on Steam. It introduced the Sea of Stars Miracle outfit, co-op gameplay, and more, but unfortunately, it also brought various issues along with it.

Fans were upset, reporting several bugs, login issues, changes to the lore, high monetisation, and more. A fan said, “Nikki keeps getting stuck and I can’t move her besides jumping and dashing,” while another shared, “The amount of times I’ve had to Alt+F4 out of the game because of softlocks, game breaking bugs, or graphical errors, and everything else.

Now, after weeks of silence and backlash from fans, including many calling for boycotts, the Infinity Nikki Dev Team finally came to X and issued a formal apology. They’ve acknowledged the issues, citing “insufficient preparation” and “technical challenges” as the main causes behind this update.

The team addressed all the concerns and promised improvement, compensation, and more

To amend, the team announced to delay Version 1.6, now set to release on June 12. Meanwhile, they’re also extending “Version 1.5’s end date to ensure greater stability and prevent similar issues from recurring.” The good news is, events like Chase the Bubbles will continue until Version 1.6’s launch.

The team also clarified that the missing outfits and “The Threads of Reunion storyline’s absence in this version was never intended as a removal,” and were just postponed due to technical challenges. You’ll see them soon, as “these elements are planned for future updates.

Oh, they have also postponed the co-op weekly system, which will now debut in version 1.6. That said, you’ll receive 360 Starlit Crystals as compensation. Talking about compensation, from June 5 to 12, 2025, you’ll get a total of 960 Diamonds and 8 Energy Crystals, which is great.

Additionally, the game has launched a community initiative, called the Miraland Round Table, giving you an opportunity to share your feedback directly via mail or in-game.

They’ve also promised long-term improvements, better performance and stability across all platforms, new gameplay systems, and more, via phased updates. Although late, I’m happy that they’re addressing the issues and coming up with great initiatives to win over everyone’s hearts again.
