HoYoverse has officially showcased its upcoming Honkai IP game titled Honkai: Nexus Anima. This mysterious project, which first appeared in recruitment ads last year, will be an urban fantasy Chinese RPG featuring spirit companions, auto chess battles, and exploration.

During the Honkai: Star Rail Concert 2025, HoYoverse showed a short teaser for the new Honkai game, which featured two creature trainers about to battle.
Though the name is still unannounced officially, the name Honkai: Nexus Anima has surfaced through trademark filings and domain registrations. This is backed by regional Twitter accounts like @HonkaiNA and its language-based variants.
First revealed back in March this year via the job listings. From what I’ve understood from the translations, the job postings described a game where you can explore a peaceful seaside town. One can collect “Destined Spirits” to form a team and engage in battles.
These spirits can be trained and evolved, unlocking abilities to fly, glide, and surf while uncovering hidden secrets. They’ve been referenced as Pokemon-like. Development details include the game being worked with Unity, with positions open for game system development, rendering, animation, level design, and more.
If you remember, an earlier recruitment image from last year hinted at a modern city setting, and it looks like it was the same as the recent one. The recruitment of the Mission Designer was open as part of the Honkai IP Pre-research.
Honkai IP has become very strong for HoYoverse, as the franchise has already seen four releases, with the big names being Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail. With a new game on the way, it’s clear that the lore will only continue to expand, which seems to be the current plan.
Official details about what the name of the game would be, the release span, and other details are still unknown. Honkai IP game project is still in its early stages, so it is expected to take more time before we get any official news.
