Halfbrick Studios has announced a closed beta test (CBT) for their upcoming fast-paced, roguelite shooter, Guncrypt, for Android and iOS. The beta is open exclusively to Community members, and recruitment is now open. The playdates will be announced soon, but you can still try the game.
Get ready to dive into dungeon runs and teleport through walls
Guncrypt is a fast-paced, roguelite shooter that blends deck-building mechanics and a unique control scheme for touchscreen. In this game, you’ll be teleporting through walls, blasting enemies, and collecting bullets to upgrade to unleash chaos.
I like its pirate-themed aesthetic, which blends nicely with its retro arcade vibe, taking me back to my childhood gaming days. I’m especially excited to explore the dungeons and teleport from one spot to another using simple tap controls. This reminds me of Archero 2, which I enjoyed a lot.
Leaving combat aside, you can also complete quests, discover new items, and uncover the mystery behind the town’s strange curse. You’ll also find mystical Tarot Cards, which grant you permanent upgrades. It’s still in active development, so I believe it’s too early to judge, and wait for more details.
How to apply for the upcoming Guncrypt closed beta test
Guncrypt is kicking off a closed beta test (CBT) soon on both Android and iOS. This test aims to find “What broke? What slapped? What made you cackle?” Recruitment is now officially open, and its playdates will be announced soon.
Here’s how you can apply for Guncrypt’s upcoming CBT:
- First, tap on this Recruitment form.
- Enter the email linked to your Google Play Store.
- Share your device brand and model.
- Now add your Halfbrick+ Community username.
- Head to the Guncrypt Discord and text: “I filled the form and I want my HB Tester role!“
- Finally, come back to the form and hit submit.
You’ll need to be a member of Halfbrick+ Community, and the team will connect with you via the community to organize the playtests. And this will be an early, shortened version of the game. You can now download and play it via the Google Play Store or TestFlight for iOS.
