Goddess of Victory: NIKKE launched its major update titled “Over the Horizon” this July 3, 2025. This update adds a new SSR character, reruns the NieR:Automata collaboration, and brings a lot of new costumes, events, and more.
The update continues the summer festivities with themed outfits, login rewards, and fresh story missions for us to enjoy throughout the month. Here’s a full breakdown of everything included in the Over the Horizon story update.
Goddess of Victory: NIKKE ‘Over the Horizon’ Event and Update Overview
New SSR Character: Sora
SSR Sora headlines this update as a new Supporter who uses a rocket launcher to heal and cleanse debuffs. She’s part of the Over the Horizon squad and offers solid support potential. She wields the Turbulence weapon.
You can recruit her from the Special Recruit banner until July 17, 2025, and if you rack up 200 Gold Mileage Tickets, she’s also available through exchange.
Character Re-runs
If you didn’t manage to pull SSR Eve before, you’ve now got a bit more time; her recruitment banner has been extended until July 10. And for fans of the NieR:Automata crossover, both 2B and A2 are back. Their banners are open until July 31, with A2’s recruitment starting a bit later on July 10, 2025.
Don’t forget about Pascal either, this SR unit supports your squad with healing and is available by simply playing through the OuteR:Automata event.
Themed Costumes
The summer vibe is strong this time around, with new outfits for your favorite characters. 2B’s “YoRHa Unofficial Waterfront Gear I” can be unlocked through the HIDDEN SUMMER PASS, while A2’s matching swimsuit-style gear comes as a free reward from the SILENT OASIS login event.
Privaty also gets a limited-time summer costume, Destined in Blue, just for logging in during the BLOOMING LETTER event. If you missed out on some previous NieR costumes, now’s your chance to grab them again.
Outfits like 2B’s original YoRHa uniform and A2’s prototype gear are making a comeback, some through gacha and others from the shop. And if you already own the collab characters, their Metamorphic Damage versions unlock via OuteR:Automata challenges, so it’s worth diving into those missions again.
Mini Games, Gameplay Updates, and New Archive Entry
The hacking mini-game from the original NieR:Automata crossover is back and available until July 31. It’s a neat way to earn extra rewards while enjoying a fun break from standard combat.
Also, the COLORLESS story event has been added to the Archives, and the Memory Films from Over the Horizon will now be unlockable there too, letting you rewatch the story moments.
Events, Rewards, and Other Additions
The new story event, Over the Horizon, runs until July 17 and takes you on a flight training journey through challenging missions. Along the way, you’ll gather development materials, read the unfolding story, and test your squads in battle.
Meanwhile, the OuteR:Automata rerun gives you a big open map to explore with loads of gem rewards, unique relics, and boss fights in Challenge Stages. Several login events are live as well.
Just logging in daily during the SILENT OASIS event (21 days) and the shorter CHECK IN (7 days) will earn you materials and costume rewards. BLOOMING LETTER is a one-day event offering Privaty’s swimsuit costume, so don’t miss it.
There are also plenty of combat challenges. The Union Raid starts on July 11, so make sure your union is ready by then. Coordinated Operation brings a co-op boss fight from July 11 to 13, while Solo Raid Season 26 gives you until July 10. And if you’re a top SP Arena player, Champion Arena Beta Season 7 kicks off July 3.
