Lights, camera, Bangkok! The annual GamingonPhone Awards are here, and given how grand this event is lining up to be, this is going to be a mega celebration of everything mobile games! The 2025 edition of the GamingonPhone Awards will recognise the best in the mobile games industry, and this year, it is bigger than ever.
The 5th edition is not only going to be an online extravaganza, unlike the last four editions. But also, it is going to be held in person, the first of its kind, and it will be in Bangkok, Thailand! This is bringing together the East and West of the gaming world under one vibrant roof. With nominations for the GamingonPhone Awards 2025 officially open, it’s time to make your voice heard!
Safe to say, the GamingonPhone Awards are more than just accolades. It’s a global celebration of innovation, creativity, and excellence in the mobile games industry. Trusted by mobile gamers and professionals across 150+ countries, the Awards represent a true reflection of what’s moving the industry forward.
Looking back at the 2024 Edition
Before we leap into the 2025 celebration, let’s take a quick moment to reflect on just how impactful last year’s edition was. The 2024 GamingonPhone Awards set new benchmarks for reach, engagement, and industry involvement. Garnering 15M+ impressions across platforms and witnessing a staggering 550K+ votes from fans and industry professionals was mammoth.
With 5307 nominations pouring in, 240 finalists competing across 30 categories, and the introduction of an expert Jury Panel comprising 42 industry leaders, the 2024 edition proved to be a massive leap forward.
It was a landmark moment in our journey, showcasing the growing influence and recognition of mobile games in the global entertainment landscape. The bar was raised, expectations were set, and the entire industry came together in celebration, and now, we’re ready to go even bigger in 2025.
What’s new in the 2025 edition of GamingonPhone Awards
The 2025 edition raises the bar for how we celebrate the mobile gaming world. Along with retaining our inclusive 3-way voting system from last year, the Jury with 50%, Public with 30%, and GamingonPhone Editorial Team taking the remaining 20%, the ceremony this year evolves into a full-fledged global industry summit.
While Bangkok plays host to this year’s live event, the Awards ceremony also brings a dedicated space for curated networking and business matchmaking. With access to top-tier professionals, exclusive networking opportunities, and curated business matchmaking, it’s where cross-border collaborations are sparked and deals that usually take months come to life over a single evening of premium experiences.
The continued inclusion of B2C and B2B awards to honour both consumer-facing and behind-the-scenes excellence.
The Process of GamingonPhone Awards 2025
This year’s awards will be conducted in four stages as usual.
Stage 1: Submission (July 15 – August 10, 2025)
Studios, publishers, service providers, and creators can submit their entries using the official nomination form.
Stage 2: Shortlisting (August 11 – August 20, 2025)
The GamingonPhone editorial team will evaluate the nominations and prepare a shortlist for each category.
Stage 3: Voting Process (August 21 – September 21, 2025)
From August 21st, the voting goes live, and the mobile gaming industry can submit their votes across the 30 categories.
Stage 4: Live Awards Night (October 17, 2025)
Winners will be revealed during an unforgettable live ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand, celebrating the best of mobile gaming from across the globe.
The night starts when the gates open at 4:00 PM (Bangkok Time, GMT+7), letting guests arrive and settle in. At 5:00 PM, there will be an introduction and some words from sponsors.
Next, at 5:30 PM, guests can enjoy a networking session with food and drinks. The main Award Ceremony begins at 7:00 PM, where we will announce the winners in both B2C and B2B categories. After the ceremony, there will be an After Party until 10:00 PM, where everyone can celebrate and have fun.
For VIP guests, there will also be a special VIP Dinner the next day at 6:00 PM, with a chance to connect with others in the industry in a more private setting.
GamingonPhone Awards 2025 Categories
This year, we have a total of 30 categories divided into B2B and B2C. Based on the number of nominations, we’ll shortlist the finalists, and the winners will be chosen after the voting process by the Jury, the Public, and the GamingonPhone editorial team.
Note: When we mention ‘2025’, it will automatically mean the timeline of November 01, 2024, to July 31, 2025. Below, you’ll find explanations for each award category, and remember, you can submit as many nominations as you’d like!
B2C Categories
- Game Of The Year: Best mobile game of the year launched in 2025.
- On-going Game Of The Year: Some games only get better with time. This award recognizes the best game that continues to evolve with regular updates and community support. The launch year is not considered.
- Indie Game Of The Year: GOTY, but for indie mobile games only! Only the 2025 launch applies.
- Premium Game Of The Year: Launched in 2025, this is awarded to the best premium mobile game.
- Innovative Game Of The Year: This one’s for the most creative and original mobile game idea! The launch year needs to be 2025.
- Mobile Game Community Of The Year: This award honors the most passionate and active mobile gaming community, regardless of when the game launched.
- Apple Arcade Game Of The Year: Among the growing library of Apple Arcade, this award picks the best game released in 2025.
- Netflix Game Of The Year: This award is presented to the best title from the Netflix Games service. The 2025 launch criteria are a must.
- Visual Spectacle Of The Year: Mobile games are starting to look like console titles! In this category, the best-looking mobile game (considering the performance) will be awarded that was launched in 2025.
- Mobile Game Adaptation Of The Year: Whether it came from a movie, show, or another game, this award is for the most impressive mobile game adaptation released in 2025.
- Most Anticipated Game Of The Year: Upcoming games are a major part of the community hype. With this category, the award will recognize the game for which the mobile games community is most hyped.
- Players’ Choice Game Of The Year: Dear players, you are the kingmakers! This category is entirely based on public votes for the best game launched in 2025.
- Best Voice Acting in Mobile Game: This award honors the most outstanding voice acting performance in a mobile game in 2025.
- Mobile Game Update Of The Year: A good update can bring new life to a game. This award is for the most impactful content update that launched in 2025.
- Mobile Esports Game Of The Year: Esports play a major role in many long-running multiplayer games. This award recognizes the most impactful mobile esports game for 2025.
- Mobile Esports Team Of The Year: An award to the most impactful mobile esports team for 2025.
- Mobile Esports Player Of The Year: An award to the best performing mobile esports player for 2025.
- Mobile Game Video Creator Of The Year: This award celebrates the top mobile game content creator who has delivered quality videos related to mobile games in 2025.

- Mobile Game Developer Of The Year: Turning a piece of code and an asset into a fantastic mobile game is a superpower! This award is presented to the best Mobile Game Developer.
- Mobile Game Publisher Of The Year: This award will acknowledge the best in mobile game publishing.
- Indie Mobile Game Studio Of The Year: This award acknowledges the best Indie mobile game studio.
- Best IP Crossover Of The Year: This award celebrates the innovative and memorable collaboration that happened in 2025.
- Advertising & UA Service Provider Of The Year: This award is given to the best service provider in user acquisition and advertising, helping mobile games grow and reach new heights.
- Mobile Analytics Tool Of The Year: Award for the analytics tool that has helped mobile game developers and publishers understand and improve their game performance.

- Best PR / Marketing Team Of The Year: This award is presented to the most impactful PR or marketing team, be it in-house or an agency.
- External Development Partner Of The Year: This award recognizes a partner whose expertise, innovation, and reliability have significantly elevated game development and delivery.
- Leader in Climate Action and Social Innovation: This award is presented to the mobile games company that has demonstrated leadership this year in climate action or social innovation.
