- Fortnite returns to the iOS App Store in the US, now available for iPhones and iPads.
- The game also relaunches in the EU via the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
- Epic accused Apple of violating a court injunction just last week by blocking the game's submission.
After nearly five years of legal disputes and platform bans, Fortnite is officially back on the iOS App Store in the United States. Epic Games on Wednesday confirmed that the blockbuster battle royale is once again available for download on iPhones and iPads.
In addition, Fortnite has returned to the European Union via the Epic Games Store and AltStore, thanks to recent regulatory changes under the Digital Markets Act. This move was done after Apple blocked Epic Games’ submission of Fortnite on iOS in the United States.
Fortnite’s return marks a major victory for Epic Games and mobile players
Last week, Epic accused Apple of violating a court injunction by refusing to review the update and claimed the company was retaliating due to their ongoing legal battles over App Store policies. Fortnite was supposed to release in the 2nd week of May 2025, following the court ruling against App Store fees.
Commenting on Fortnite’s return in the EU, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney thanked supporters of the long-running push. “Thanks to all of the folks who initially sided with Apple, then later came around to the winning side, supporting app developer rights and consumer rights,” he shared on this X handle.
Still, it is not certain whether this will end the long-running conflict between Epic and Apple. Regardless, this marks a significant win for Epic Games and iOS players who’ve been waiting since the game was removed in 2020 following Epic’s challenge to Apple’s 30% commission on in-app purchases.
Get the game on the iOS App Store now, already at #1 in the US Store. A minimum of 4GB of RAM is required to play, so you might get a pop-up screen if it doesn’t fit the criteria.
