SQUARE ENIX has announced the shutdown of its highly popular RPG, FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS, scheduled for October 31, 2025, in Japan. First launched in 2015 and globally on June 30, 2016, the global version had already ended service on October 30, 2024, after 8 years.
FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS will shutdown in Japan, following the global version’s shutdown last year
For those unfamiliar, FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS is a turn-based RPG with retro pixel art and character CG. Set in the world of Lapis, you can experience an all-new story with familiar characters from the hit FINAL FANTASY series. You can explore dungeons, engage in strategic battles, or PvP arenas.

Unfortunately, the FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS announced on X that the game would shut down on October 31, 2025, in Japan, stating, “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has played FFBE for so many years since its release in 2015.“
Players can look forward to trying the Memorial Edition after EOS
Following the announcement, they have disabled in-app purchases, and a Grand Finale Campaign has begun, which includes in-game events like the final chapter of the 5th season and an epilogue scenario. So, I suggest you enjoy the game to its fullest until the EOS date.
The good news is that after the game’s services end, the developers plan to distribute a Memorial Edition, where you can view units and Vision cards on October 31. Still, it’s disheartening to see such an iconic title come to an end after 10 years, with many veteran fans expressing their gratitude for the journey.
