Farlight 84 August 2025 Rebrand Update: All the details explained
New first-person (FPP) mode
The improvements to first-person mode (FPP) are finally coming, and it’s not just a new way to look around. The devs call it “fast, loud, and personal,” and from the looks of it, they’re aiming for something that feels more like Apex Legends.
But FPP isn’t the only thing coming. The developers are also fixing maps, improving graphics, and making the game run better, especially in areas like Nextara. Sounds during fights will be easier to hear, voice chat problems are getting fixed, and Syfer is getting a brand-new look.
Buddy System 2.0 introduces Super Buddies
There will also be new Buddies to play with and more settings to help your game run smoothly. Called the Buddy System 2.0, which now includes new Buddies and Super Buddies that offer unique tactical advantages.
New content: maps, heroes, and ziplines
A brand-new map called Nextara introduces new combat zones, strategic chokepoints, and verticality for players to explore using parkour and tools like Ziplines and the all-new Rat Cannon.
Ziplines are also being added, and they’re not just for moving fast. They’re smart tools that help you rotate, escape, or surprise enemies. You’ll see red lines on the mini-map; those are the ziplines. You can even jump off mid-ride or use hero skills while zipping.

Ziplines now connect some strongholds, so you can move across the map in clever ways. Use them with jump pads or abilities to make big plays. The Rat Cannon, on the other hand, is pure chaos, allowing players to launch themselves across the map, either for a quick escape or an aggressive dive into battle.
Joining the roster is a new hero, Kui Dou, who brings his own unique skill set to the battlefield, along with upgraded weapon loadouts that open up hundreds of new tactical combinations.
Community rewards and a promising future
With all these updates, new ways to fight, and better game performance, the game is stepping up in a big way this summer and might brush off the Missed Opportunity tag. Farlight Games has also dropped a new trailer, highlighting the game’s fresh mechanics, maps, and features.
With over six years in development and a $140 million investment, this relaunch marks a new chapter for Farlight 84, backed by over 50 million global players.
As a thank-you to the community, all of us will get a free Battle Pass just by logging in after the update. The Battle Pass rewards have also been improved; players who stay active can now earn enough diamonds to unlock future passes again and again.
