GENMUGAME CO., LTD., known for Haze Reverb, and more, has launched an open beta test of their anime-style semi-RTS RPG, Elpis Fallen Star, on both Android in the US, the UK, and the Philippines. This is a full-wipe OBT that is now live until August 30, 2025.

Dive into the Abyss and face off against the Demon King with your companions

Elpis: Fallen Star is a semi-real-time strategy RPG where you face an epic battle against the Demon King. In this game, you play as the leader of an exploration squad, commanding a squad of up to 8 members, strategizing and rallying your allies, to crush your enemies and the Demon King.

The story begins when the Gate to the Abyss opens, tearing the land apart with bottomless rifts that spew corruption. In this merciless wasteland, survival hangs by a thread. Along the way, you encounter Agnes and a pink-haired girl with twin tails, sparking the start of your adventure.

Build bonds with the characters, and activate Total Assault

What excites me the most is pulling and investing in the charming characters like Vee and Freya. They’re part of the four distinct classes: Spellweaver, Ghosthunter, Ironclad, and Voidblade. As you progress, you can forge bonds with them, and you can activate Total Assault to overpower your enemies.

Overall, the game looks very promising, with its chibi characters, anime-inspired visuals, full voice acting, appealing soundtrack, character progression, pre-battle planning, Guild, Monica’s cooking, and more. The battle system reminds me of Silver and Blood, but I wish it weren’t chibi-based.

Elpis: Fallen Star is now available in open beta on both Android in the US, the UK, and the Philippines. If you’re from these regions, you can now download the game via the Google Play Store. There’s no information yet regarding an iOS or global launch. Stay tuned for more updates!
