For those who are not getting Epic cards, this news might not make any difference, just kidding. eFootball 2026 is reportedly getting a new pack opening animation, and from the leaks, the video showcases a very interesting concept of the first half animation.

As per the leaks available, the Chinese version of the game has showcased this pack opening. The player will run to kick a ball in the center, and there will be eFootball logo plates scrolling. Once the ball lands there, you get the player-tier, for example, four stars, and then the reveal animation like we have now.

The animation feels similar to the classic black ball openings from the PES era

This kind of reminds me of the black ball animation we had in the PES series. Remember, there were different rarities: Silver, Gold, and Black would scroll, and we had to click on the screen, and then it would land on a ball. Some black balls even had thunder animation.

Since eFootball’s rebranding from PES, the pack opening animations have gone through a few changes, but many fans have felt they lacked the dramatic punch of the classic PES days. In eFootball 2022 and 2023, the animations were rather simple, just stadium lighting up and player reveal.

The current animation is pretty decent, though it has been inconsistent. In the shape of a stadium, the eFootball logo lights up, and when we get Epic cards, we see a mix of colours with yellow, orange, and red being in the mix. Well, we have missed out on some Epics not triggering this; hopefully, the eFootball 2026 animation fixes that.

Still, the waiting time for this animation looks to be longer. Since this has similarities with PES, I can’t wait to see the fake “tips and tricks” the YouTubers would put in the channel. Again, these things won’t work because every single draw is random.
