Battlefield Mobile might be in for a comeback. Electronic Arts is hiring a Director of Performance Media for the Battlefield franchise, possibly signalling a renewed interest in expanding the action title’s reach, including a mobile comeback.
Electronic Arts has posted a new job opening for a Director of User Acquisition/Performance Media to lead growth for the Battlefield franchise. Here’s where things get interesting: the role sits within EA’s Live Services Marketing Organization and will focus on player acquisition across PC, console, and mobile.
Battlefield Mobile was cancelled alongside Apex Legends Mobile back in Mobile
The mention of mobile is a strong chance to fuel these rumours. With this hybrid role, the chosen candidate will be responsible for crafting multi-year user acquisition strategies, setting ROAS goals, and helping shape Battlefield’s marketing future.

The mobile version of Battlefield has been in the works for some time since EA announced a new Battlefield standalone back in 2021. The title went through early alpha and closed beta phases before being cancelled on January 31, 2023, alongside Apex Legends Mobile.
That cancellation was a major disappointment for mobile gamers, especially since Battlefield Mobile had shown potential during early testing. At the time, EA did not offer a clear reason behind the decision. The studio behind Battlefield Mobile, Industrial Toys, was also shut down.

So, this new role’s mobile focus and Battlefield-exclusive scope suggest that the company may be reconsidering its mobile plans. Unless we officially see a poster saying Battlefield Mobile is back, we can’t confirm its arrival, but surely the revival of the title, which was said to be a major missed opportunity, looks exciting.
