Thomas K. Young, known for the Dadish series, Be Brave, Barb, and more, has announced his latest side-scrolling platformer title, Dunkadillo, scheduled to launch on Android, iOS, PC, and Switch on September 9.
Relive nostalgia with a fresh basketball twist in Dunkadillo
Dunkadillo is a charming side-scrolling platformer that mixes a basketball theme adventure with a cast of adorable characters. Here, you play as Dill the armadillo, who can turn into a basketball to bounce off walls, floors, and ceilings, while rushing to save your friend.
The adventure kicks off when your best friend, Pickle, is snatched away by a mysterious tentacle. So, you’ll be double jumping over exploding bees, distracted porcupines, and overly friendly frogs as you make your way across 50 stages. Plus, each level ends with a cool dunk into a basketball hoop.
This one instantly takes me back to the old Bounce title I loved playing on keypad phones, and it feels like a new spin on the nostalgia. That said, I’m also eager to collect rare trading cards to unlock 10 quirky characters. With five bosses, vibrant visuals, a solid soundtrack, controller support, and more, the game looks very promising.
Dunkadillo is scheduled to launch on Android, iOS, PC, and Switch on September 9. The game has not yet been listed in the Google Play Store or App Store. Stay tuned for more updates!
