Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story is a charming retro management title that brings together beloved characters from Fujiko・F・Fujio’s classic manga universe. In this game, you run a Dorayaki shop with none other than Doraemon himself, almost everyone’s favorite childhood robot cat.
As someone who grew up watching these shows on Hungama, Nickelodeon, and even Sonic Nickelodeon, this game gave me a serious wave of nostalgia. Seeing some of my favorite characters like Kiteretsu, Kumada, Perman, and his gang, Bon dropping by as customers makes me happy.
Nostalgia aside, the game looks genuinely fun to me. You can make Doraemon’s favorite snack, dorayaki, those fluffy, sweet pancake-like cakes, which I always dreamed of having as a kid. Oh, not to forget, you can also make other sweets, organize your shop, decorate the space, and manage everything.
Find ingredients, use gadgets, enjoy mini-events, and more
And, there’s more than just running the shop, too, as you can embark on little adventures like the mountain behind the school to gather ingredients, face difficult situations, and use Doraemon’s iconic gadgets, like mini-Doraemon, to overcome them. This part made the game more intriguing for me.
Although the game comes with a premium price, I believe it’s worth it if you’re a fan, considering its cozy gameplay, nostalgic characters, mini-games, events, classic gadgets, and vibrant pixel-art visuals. That said, I do wish they offer a discount sometime soon.
Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story is now available on both Android and iOS. You can now download the game via your respective Google Play Store or App Store, costing $14.99.
