- Destiny: Rising is the first mobile shooter in the iconic Destiny franchise by Bungie and NetEase.
- Set in an alternate timeline, the game features unique characters, epic skills, and powerful weapons.
- Features include campaign missions, 6-player strikes, PvE, PvP modes, clans, and controller support.
The highly anticipated sci-fi RPG shooter, Destiny: Rising is all set for a global launch on August 28, 2025. This would be the first-ever mobile game in Bungie’s iconic Destiny franchise, the game will be developed and published by NetEase Games.
The first hints at a Destiny mobile title were back in September 2021, when official job listings from the site revealed the same. The official announcement came in October 2024, with the closed alpha test for players in the USA and Canada and was unveiled at the NetEase Games 520 Online Conference 2025.
Players can switch between first-person and third-person views
The RPG shooter brings the signature sci-fi action and high-stakes storytelling of the Destiny universe to mobile with an all-new touch. Set in an alternate Destiny timeline, Destiny: Rising lets you take on the role of unique characters as you fight to defend a futuristic Earth.

The game combines first-person and third-person perspectives, giving players the choice to experience its fast-paced gunplay however they prefer. Game modes are something I look forward to, as there are both Destiny’s classic and new modes added.
From the store description, expect classic PvE campaign missions, intense 6-player co-op strikes, and a mix of new PvP and PvE modes built for replayability on mobile. Combine this with an arsenal of powerful weapons and trait combinations to experiment with, looks fun.
Another highlight is its wide cast of characters, each carrying their own backstories, personalities, and skills. Beyond combat, the game also supports online multiplayer features like clans, party game modes, and shared spaces that can be customized. Controller support will also be there.
At the time of writing, the global pre-registrations are now open on both Android and iOS via the Google Play Store and App Store, respectively. A pre-registration campaign is also underway, so don’t miss out on being a part of it before Destiny: Rising gets a global launch this August.
