The Version 3.5 update of Honkai: Star Rail releases the much-anticipated 5-star character Hysilens. She is a Physical character following the Path of Nihility. This Honkai: Star Rail Hysilens Build Guide will help you get the most out of her abilities by offering a detailed breakdown of her skills and recommending the best configurations to optimize her performance.
Hysilens Gameplay
Hysilens is a Physical Nihility DoT carry who brings constant damage by stacking and detonating multiple status effects. Her talent automatically applies Bleed, Burn, Shock, or Wind Shear whenever an ally attacks, quickly covering enemies in DoTs.
While these effects seem weak on their own, her ultimate is what makes her dangerous; it creates a zone that reduces enemy DEF and makes every DoT tick trigger an additional Physical DoT Attack, up to eight times per enemy per turn. With her own four DoTs plus extra ones from allies like Kafka or Black Swan, her damage ramps up fast and fills the screen with procs.

Her skill is an AoE hit that also applies universal vulnerability, while her technique starts battles with two DoTs already in place. Passives give her big quality-of-life boosts: free SP and an auto-zone at battle start, self-detonations with the strongest multiplier yet, and a huge universal damage buff once she reaches 120% Effect Hit Rate. With strong trace stats to back it up, Hysilens is built to be the centerpiece of DoT teams, finally turning the archetype into a true DPS playstyle instead of just support damage.

Honkai Star Rail Hysilens Best Relics and Planar Ornaments
In this section of the Honkai: Star Rail Hysilens Build Guide, we will discuss what relics, main stats, and planar ornaments you need to focus on for Hysilens.

Your stat goals should be about 120% EHR, 134 SPD (though faster builds like 160 can work if you want more turns), and around 3.5–3.6k ATK pre-combat. Focus on ATK%, Effect Hit Rate, and Speed subs where you can, and she’ll be set to carry your DoT teams.
- Body: Effective Hit Rate/ATK
- Feet: ATK
- Planar Spear: DoT DMG
- Link Rope: ATK/ERR (depending on how often you want to Ult)
Relic Set
Prisoner in Deep Confinement | Hysilens has a very straightforward build since DoT carries only one relic set. Prisoner in Deep Confinement is her best option, no questions asked. |
Planar Ornaments
Revelry by the Sea | Hysilen’s top choice is the new Revelry set, as long as you can hit her Effect Hit Rate requirement of 120%. |
Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise | If you can’t reach that threshold naturally, then Pan-Cosmic Commercial Enterprise is safer since it gives both EHR and offensive stats. |
Space Sealing Station | Space Sealing Station is also a fine alternative. |
Honkai Star Rail Hysilens Best Light Cone

Why Does the Ocean Sing (Hyselin’s 5* Light Cone) | Hysilens’s best Light Cone is her signature, which is almost tailor-made for her. It gives her a massive 40% Effect Hit Rate to easily reach her stat threshold, applies a unique debuff called Enthrallment that ramps enemy DoT vulnerability up to 30%, and even provides a 10% teamwide Speed buff whenever allies attack those enemies. In practice, this makes the cone act like a mini support tool, boosting her damage and helping teammates hit important speed breakpoints. Even at S1, it’s powerful, though it scales much harder at higher superimpositions. |
Those Many Springs (5*) | If you don’t have her signature, other strong 5-Star options include Jiaoqiu’s cone, which buffs the entire team while giving her extra EHR |
Reforged Remembrance (5*) | Black Swan’s light cone stacks massive damage bonuses, especially in teams with lots of DEF reduction. |
Patience Is All You Need (5*) | Patience Is All You Need also works if you want another source of DoT |
Eyes of the Prey (4*) | Eyes of the Prey is solid for its Effect Hit Rate and DoT boost |
Good Night and Sleep Well (4*) | Good Night and Sleep Well scales well with debuffs |
It’s Showtime (4*) | It’s Showtime can be a decent budget pick |
Best Team Comps for Hysilens in Honkai Star Rail
Hysilens teams always start with the mandatory core of Hysilens and Kafka, since Kafka is the only unit that can currently constantly detonate DoTs and enable Hysilens’s zone damage. Together they form the backbone of every DoT comp.
- Hysilens + Kafka + Black Swan + Sustain Unit
The third slot is usually either Black Swan or a premium buffer. Black Swan fits perfectly since her Arcana stacks skyrocket thanks to Hysilens constantly applying multiple DoTs, and she doubles as both an amplifier and secondary DPS.
If you don’t have Black Swan, strong buffers like Robin (frontloading DoTs with turn advance), Ruan Mei (buffs, RES PEN, and delay utility), or Tribbie (RES PEN and RNG follow-ups) are great choices. Cipher is another strong option, fixing DoT’s backloaded nature by storing and bursting damage, while also being SP positive.

For the sustain slot, you can flex in Huohuo, Aventurine, Hyacine, or Gallagher (QPQ build), depending on what your team needs. Huohuo provides energy for more ults, Aventurine and Hyacine contribute constant attacks to speed up DoT stacking, and Gallagher helps fix SP issues in triple DoT setups.
Aventurine with Trend also adds an extra DoT instance, which directly benefits Hysilens. If you’re missing premium supports, Sampo is a surprisingly strong 4-Star option for the third slot thanks to his E4 Wind Shear detonations, while Luka is solid for single-target fights, and Guinaifen adds some Burn utility.
Is Hysilens worth pulling in HSR
Hysilens is worth pulling if you enjoy DoT teams or want a fresh DPS option that’s already performing at the top. She pairs perfectly with Kafka and Black Swan to form one of the strongest, most consistent teams in the game right now, capable of clearing all current content with ease.
In game modes like MoC, Pure Fiction, and the newer boss fights that heavily favor DoT mechanics, her damage output feels incredible, and she makes triple DoT a fully viable archetype. That said, she doesn’t bring anything groundbreaking beyond being another strong DoT carry, and the archetype still has its old weaknesses like backloaded damage and poor toughness breaking.
Future content may expose those flaws unless we get more support tailored to DoT. But if you already have Kafka, Hysilens is a fantastic pickup that will feel rewarding to use immediately and keep DoT competitive for a long while.
