eFootball 2025 Epic Worldwide Special Selection Contract Guide

8 Epics, but whom to pick?

Story Highlights
  • eFootball 2025 8th Anniversary Epic: Worldwide Special Selection Contract features 8 Epic cards.
  • Batistuta, Oddo, and Bergkamp come with Show Time skills.

KONAMI’s eFootball 2025 is back with a bang for its 8th Anniversary, and leading the charge is the Epic: Worldwide Special Selection Contract. With a whopping 300-player pack and eight double booster Epic cards to chase, this campaign is easily one of the most exciting we’ve had in a while.

Even though we might not pull any card from the box draw, the Selection Contract is our key to get any one of the players. So, if you couldn’t pull any from the 30 tries, this guide will break down all the Epic cards featured in the 8th Anniversary Special Selection in eFootball 2025 and help you decide your pick.

eFootball 2025 Epic Worldwide Special Players

As mentioned earlier, we have eight players in the Epic Worldwide Special Selection Contract, from which you can pick one. Here’s a review of them all.

Gabriel Batistuta

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher
  • Showtime Skill: Phenomenal Finishing

I had previously reviewed Gabriel Batistuta when I tried him in my friend’s account and had a positive review on him when he arrived in the European Clubs Attackers Pack in March. Still, I would reflect him as a ruthless finisher who lives to bully defenders and smash the ball into the net.

This card has the pace, finishing, and aerial ability, and the physicality, so on paper, he would be your perfect CF. Don’t expect fancy dribbling, but for a Poacher, I don’t see why we would need on-ball abilities. His Balance is also good enough to turn and shoot, and by his users, he is one of the best CFs. You can check my review in my guide to get the extra info.

Michael Owen

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher
  • Showtime Skill: None

Okay, from the same Batistuta pack, there was Owen with the Phenomenal Finishing skill, but KONAMI was cheeky in giving us this Manchester United card, which is quite a downgrade in stats, and also the lack of a Show Time skill. You can call him the David Villa replacement from the European Clubs Special Selection Contract, where this guy has some explosive runs and top-tier finishing.

On the ball is better than Batistuta, and has decent passing for 1- 2s. The only problem I see with this card is the physicality, and it isn’t any good to shield the ball, so forget about physical duels. But he’ll be making frequent runs, so make sure to keep feeding him through balls.

Massimo Oddo

  • Position: RB
  • Playing Style: Offensive Wingback
  • Showtime Skill: Edged Crossing

The first new card in the selection, and it looks brilliant. From his stamina, which reaches the 100 mark, it is safe to say that Oddo is a hardworking right-back who offers both solid defending and support in attack, while I feel the former is his best trait and would have been a strong Defensive Wingback.

His crossing is solid, making him a decent outlet on overlaps because Edged Crossing is a fantastic skill to have, and Lofted Pass is his best passing trait, too. I also feel he can be a good RMF where you can get frequent chances to cross inside and make the best use of his abilities.

Christian Abbiati

  • Position: GK
  • Playing Style: Offensive Goalkeeper
  • Showtime Skill: None

Judging Goalkeepers purely by stats is quite difficult, as I’ve seen numbers being an absolute joke sometimes in this position. Purely on this card, I find Abbiati would be better in coming across the line and excel in shot-stopping and claiming crosses.

As for those reflexes, you surely need to move away from the autobuild, where the physical attributes like arm coverage are on the lower side, so reflexes must be in the 90s. Need to give him the Penalty Saver skill if you are going to pull him.

Ludovic Giuly

  • Position: RWF
  • Playing Style: Roaming Flank
  • Showtime Skill: None

Can call him a dribbler’s dream here. Giuly is a fast and tricky winger with whom you can use to take on defenders. Has a good burst of acceleration, but what makes him tick will be the dribbling numbers and having the skills to move forward.

He has decent passing numbers, but you can cut inside and give throughballs and crosses since it aligns with his playstyle while also having all the necessary creative skills. A sleeper card from the pack for sure, you get a very fancy winger with this one.

Hidetoshi Nakata

  • Position: AMF
  • Playing Style: Hole Player
  • Showtime Skill: None

Nakata is from the Italian League Attackers Pack, which is a shame; we had two better options in Inzaghi and Del Piero there. Still, Nakata stands up on his own in his position. No Show Time skill, but still, he ticks the boxes to be that solid AMF/SS hybrid.

Dribbling, no questions, absolutely brilliant, and he’s got the vision to pick out clever passes in the final third, those passing numbers can go to the early 90s. Hole Player playstyle + Utility in multiple positions can make you try him in any attacking position you need.

Daniel Van Buyten

  • Position: CB
  • Playing Style: Destroyer
  • Showtime Skill: None

Van Buyten has been one of the favourite Destroyer defenders for many now, and there’s no denying he is up there. This card was already featured in the FC Bayern Munich Epic pack, so if you have him, you would know how well he fares.

In short, Van Buyten is a no-nonsense defender built to dominate in the air and bully attackers. He’s not the quickest, but his positioning and strength are his best qualities. His tackling is aggressive, and he’s the type to clear every cross that comes near him. Buff his speed a bit.

Dennis Bergkamp

  • Position: AMF
  • Playing Style: Hole Player
  • Showtime Skill: Game-Changing Pass

Stat-wise, he isn’t an automatic choice, but still, Bergkamp‘s other weaker cards are pretty good, so don’t sleep on this. He would work better as a creative SS, where he would be in the attacking third waiting to create chances. Dribbling is his best attribute, but the rest are in the 80s mark, which is quite nice.

Who to select from the Epic Worldwide Special Players in eFootball 2025

A glance over the options and to be honest, all look like good cards in their own right. Still, I’m sure many might have made up their minds about whom to get, and it would largely be on the striker duo in this pack.

Still, purely on a statistical and gameplay basis, here is my ranking of the eight options we have.

TierPlayer
SSS (Overpowered)Gabriel Batistuta
S (Strong)Michael Owen, Massimo Oddo, Hidetoshi Nakata, Daniel Van Buyten
A (Good)Ludovic Giuly, Christian Abbiati
B (Average)Dennis Bergkamp
C (Below Average)None

Batistuta is simply the best of the lot if you’re looking for a starter, and it is closely followed by Oddo. Both the picks have strong Show Time skills that have been effective in-game, and for the exact reason I’m going for these two picks. Nakata is another underrated card who does his job well at his position.

Owen is good, don’t mind me, but the lack of ST skill can be a deal breaker for many. Still, the reason he isn’t an overpowered card is that he can be easily contained under a strong physical defense, while with Batistuta, you have multiple use cases to score a goal.
