Manager Team Playstyle Proficiency in eFootball 2025
Starting first, Managers have a proficiency rating, which I believe you already know. Usually ranging from 5 to 89, and that number determines how your player’s stats get additional bonuses. More often, you can see best managers usually lie within the range of 77 to 89.
These bonuses are divided into +1, +2, or +3 depending on where the player’s attribute falls within a certain range. The complete table is given below.

So, here it is easily explained that a manager stat jump from 88 to 89 doesn’t always guarantee a +1 to your player’s overall, but in fact, it is the stats that count. However, for calculations, you can take help from the next section.
How is Manager Proficiency calculated and applied in eFootball 2025
Let’s say your manager has 88 proficiency. That means if a player’s attribute is between 40 and 56, they receive a +1 boost. If it’s between 57 and 84, they get a +2. And anything from 85 to 96 gets a +3. The higher the manager’s proficiency, the earlier the +3 bonus kicks in.
For example, with a manager who has 89 proficiency, the +3 bonus starts from 84 instead of 85. That one point can make a meaningful difference, especially in close matches or player builds hovering near those thresholds.
Let me take a player example now with Cole Palmer. His base (measured at proficiency 70) rating is 97, so the boost depends a lot on how good your manager is. With an 87-rated manager, he reaches 100 overall in-game, but with an 88-rated manager, he goes up to 101.
Now, if you look closer, some of his stats get a small push. His Low Pass gets a slight bump from 88 to 89, and his Finishing moves from 87 to 88. These stats at base (70) are 86 and 85 respectively, which fall under the 85-96 range that 88 proficiency grants, a +3 boost.
Is purchasing an 89-rated Manager in eFootball 2025 justified
The value of a high-proficiency manager becomes more noticeable when you’re building squads with elite players. Imagine a striker with 84 Finishing. Under an 89-rated manager, that becomes 87, but with an 88-rated manager, it’s only 86. With this, you can even make your builds flexible.
It might look like a small number on paper, but that extra +1 can make a difference in the match. However, for free-to-play users who don’t want to spend coins on managers, it’s also about being realistic.
If you ask me, going from 88 to 89 proficiency isn’t a massive leap unless you’re optimising every single stat point. The margin between 88 to 89 is smaller than 87 to 88. So, I would see a 90-rated Manager getting more of a bigger threshold, say 80-96, which is surely something to consider.
