Brawl Stars Willow Guide: Abilities Breakdown
Willow’s Attack: Lantern’s Curse

With her main attack, you can throw her lantern that shatters and leaves a puddle, like Barley’s primary attack. It then deals 800 damage three times over two seconds to enemies that got hit.
Willow’s Super: Hex
Her Super, Hex lets you fire a single tadpole towards an enemy Brawler, fully healing them, and you gain control over them for 4 seconds. This also grants a 50% damage reduction shield for the said time.
Coming to controlling them, you can basically move them as you please, and even use their basic attacks. Do note, apart from that, you won’t be able to use their Super or their Gadgets. And, you only lose control after 4 seconds or if the controlled Brawler’s HP drops to 30%.

Tips for using Willow’s Super
- Don’t waste it on Tanks: Don’t waste the Super on tanky Brawlers, as they generally have slow movements and short-range basic attacks, like Bull, El Primo, or Rosa, to name a few. Since you can’t use their Super, you won’t get much value controlling them.
- Prioritize high damage dealers: You should target Brawlers with heavy basic attack damage, like Piper or Colt. Since their basic attacks are really good, you can deal decent damage and disrupt the enemy team’s gameplay at the same time.
Brawl Stars Willow Guide: Gadgets and Star Powers
Star Powers
Love is Blind

Willow’s first Star Power, ‘Love is Blind’ affects the enemies who are damaged by the Lantern’s Curse. This Star Power reduces their reload speed.
Obsession

The next Star Power, ‘Obsession’, allows players to control the enemy with the help of their Super while also providing a movement boost to the enemy.
Gadgets
Spellbound

Spellbound lets you deal more damage to your enemies, and it also applies the entire damage instantly, unlike normal circumstances. This gadget has a cooldown of 13 seconds.
Dive

Her second Gadget, the Dive, allows you to dive for 2 seconds while also gaining invincibility. The only issue is that you won’t be able to take any action for these 2 seconds. This gadget has a cooldown of 16 seconds.
Best Game Modes for Willow
Willow’s long-range attacks work similarly to Artillery-type Brawlers, and you can take advantage of that along with her Super in various game modes. Here are her best game modes:
- Knockout: Willow is a good pick in Knockout mode, thanks to her long-range chip damage and disruptive Super. Since there’s no respawn in the mode, you can completely change the momentum of the game by taking control of an impactful enemy at the right moment.
- Brawl Ball: While she is not the fastest or tankiest Brawler out there, it’s her control abilities that make her a great pick in this mode. You can basically use your Super to control the enemy Ball carrier, or at least disrupt their attempt at scoring.
- Solo, Duo, and Trio Showdown: She is equally good in Solo, Duo, and Trio Showdown modes. You can poke your enemies from a distance, and even use the Spellbound Gadget to instantly deal more damage with your main attack, catching enemies off guard.
- Hot Zone: If used smartly, Willow also thrives in the Hot Zone mode. You can push away enemies from the zone with your main attack, and take advantage of her Super to throw away the enemy’s momentum. Use Dive gadget to escape from tricky situations.
Best Brawler Combination with Willow
Although Willow has powerful abilities, she has relatively less health and damage output. To maximise her potential, you can pair her with other Brawlers. For tanks, Ollie can be a great partner, thanks to his mobility and diving potential, allowing you damage enemies from behind using Willow.
Finx’s abilities can work well with Willow, too, for a frontline plus support type strategy, although both are Controllers. You can also try to synergize with Sam for a more aggressive approach, or Gray for tricky gameplay by taking advantage of his teleport portals.
Best Gears for Willow in Brawl Stars
Shield Gear

As Willow’s HP is not that great, you should definitely try the Shield Gear for better sustainability and escape chance from tricky situations. This gear provides an additional 900 health as a consumable shield that regenerates in 10 seconds when you are at full health.
Damage Gear

In Brawl Stars, the more damage, the better the result, and this applies to Willow too. By equipping this gear, you can deal an additional 15% damage to your enemies when your HP drops below 50%.
