The Esports World Cup (EWC) Foundation has come up with an exciting announcement. The first-ever national-level cup on a global scale esports competition will lay its foundation in 2026. The event will take place every two years with an equal prize money pool across all the featured titles and will follow a rotating host model.
A groundbreaking initiative from the Saudi organization to strengthen the esports industry
As per the words of Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, the tournament will be a stage to create heroes and inspire the next generation. It will also build a national ecosystem, resulting in a boost for the growth of esports worldwide.
“Nation versus nation competition is the ultimate expression of sport,” he said. “The ENC makes this a reality for esports, giving every fan a flag to rally behind and every player the pride of representing their country,” he added.

Along with the announcement, the EWCF also revealed some details on the upcoming event. The landmark tournament will feature the best players competing not only for professional achievement with their clubs, but for the honor of representing their countries. It will follow a recurring format, thus you should see it happening repeatedly.
Top global publishers join as partners to help shape the roadmap
The events will be organized by a joint effort from leading publishers like Electronic Arts, Krafton, Tencent, and Ubisoft. The first and inaugural event will take place in November 2026. These publishers will not only be mere partners but will help the EWCF actively to shape their game’s national ranking systems, qualification pathways, and event formats.
All the major regions, such as North America, South America, Europe, MENA, Africa, Asia, and SEA & Oceania, will join the competition. There will be both team-based and solo player competition supported by a multi-layered qualification model to balance competitiveness and inclusivity. These stakeholders will help the EWCF to how teams are formed and represented.

Besides, the prize amount will be equal for each title, making sure the competition remains fair for all. To ensure the teams invest in long-term national team programs, the event will take place once every two years in different countries as the hosts.

The event will also support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to achieve before reaching the targeted year. We’ll be following the event closely and see if anything new comes up. To stay updated with the event and all, keep your eyes on the article.
