The second installment of the Esports World Cup (EWC) is currently taking place in Saudi Arabia. It kicked off on July 8, 2025, with 24 titles. Several organizations are participating in the event and trying to become the winner of the Club Championship. So, we brought you the weekly highlights and updates of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025.

Each week comes with a new title, a new challenge, and a new thrill for the players, viewers, enthusiasts, etc. However, to know the updates from the EWC 2025, we will look at the weekly highlights.

Week 6

The week just started and will feature PUBG, Teamfight Tactics, TEKKEN 8, and Street Fighter 6. As the week progresses, we will see the fights on stage.

Week 5

The week began on the 5th of August, but didn’t have any games on the opening day. Week 6 brought together some of the world’s best esports athletes from several titles, such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Rainbow Six Siege X, and EA SPORTS FC. Some hot seats will be taken away by top players; you must follow them closely.

Here’s what happened after:

  • Twisted Minds won the COD Warzone series. And on the other hand, Team Secret won R6 Siege after defeating G2 Esports in the grand finals.
  • ManuBachoore from Team Liquid won $250,000 after defeating Brice in the finals.
  • TEKKEN 8 completed the LCQ Stage.

Week 4

  • Chess is hosting the group stage. Four titles will be hosting their grand finals and crowning the champions. These titles are: PUBG Mobile, Overwatch 2, Mobile Legends, and Chess.
  • PMWC 2025 finalists are locked in, and shocking news is already in form as defending champion Alpha7 Esports failed to qualify for the grand finals. After the grand finals, Yangon Galacticos won $500,000, being the champion of PMWC 2025.
  • Team Falcons win $400,000 as they’re crowned the champions of Overwatch 2.
  • Team Liquid has become the champion of MSC 2025 and won a million dollars as the prize pool.
  • The man, the GOAT, the big brain, won the crown in his discipline, as expected. Magnus Carlsen is the Chess Champion.

Week 3

The third week of EWC 2025 was about the showdown of mobile esports and crowning the champion of the Kings World Cup (KWC). AG.AL defeated TT Global in a tight margin to be the champion of the event. Along with other titles lighting the stage, here are a few highlights of week 3:

  • AG.AL won against TT Global by a score of 4-3 and became the champion of the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2025. Zoe was named the MVP. AG.AL International also claimed $750,000 plus 1,000 points.
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 kicked off, and the week will end with its playoffs stage. A total of $1,800,000 prize pool is up for grabs. OPTIC won the championship title.
  • Sensation title PUBG Mobile completed the group stage of its PMWC 2025.
  • StarCraft II concluded the run and crowned Serral as the champion. The winner defeated Classic by a 5-2 scoreline and took $200,000 home.
  • Chess, the first appearing title, successfully conducted the Swiss Stage and Playoffs.
  • MSC is a big event from Mobile Legends IP and one of the viewership retainers, which concluded the group stage.

Week 2

Week 2 kicked off on the 2nd of July and concluded with the Apex Legends event. LoL and Free Fire also conducted the knockout stage, and Mobile Legends featured the Women’s Invitational fully and crowned the champion. With other titles setting fire on the stage, let’s check out the highlights for this week:

  • VK Gaming won $600,000 after winning the Apex Legends by accumulating a total of 96 points. The runner-up, ROC Esports, scored 87 points.
  • Overwatch 2 Midseason Championship hosted the Last Chance Qualifier while KWC 2025 completed the group stage. The top 8 are now locked in.
  • Free Fire wrapped the Point Rush stage, Buriram United Esports topped the table with 117 points, and is waiting to put up a show in the Grand Finals.
  • League of Legends Finals begin, and we will have to wait a few more days to know the result.
  • MLBB Women’s Invitational crowned Team Vitality as the champion. The team defeated Gaimin Gladiators in the Grand Finals.
  • Dota 2 Riyadh Masters crowned Gaimin Gladiators the winner of the event, awarding them a total of $1,500,000. Quinn became the tournament MVP and was awarded $50,000.

Week 1

It is just the beginning of a great show from the esports world. Several titles are debuting and opening their doors with welcome contenders with wide open arms. Here are a few key picks from the first week:

  • VALORANT is the first game to kickstart the opening of this event and conclude the finals. Team Heretics won $500,000 after defeating FNATIC by a close call of 3-2.
  • Rennsport got a champion as BMW M Team Redline Red Bull Sim Racing won $200,000. The team accumulated a total of 374 points.
  • Apex Legends conducted the Pool Play section, waiting to host the grand final next week.
  • GO1 pocketed $300,000 along with the champion title for Rennsport.
  • MSC at EWC 2025 completed the LCQ stage.
