EA Sports brings FC Pro Champions Cup and FC Mobile Festival to Shanghai this September

EA Sports announces two esports events for its primary titles, serving on different platforms. FC Mobile and FC Online will host two esports tournaments and a dedicated mobile festival event in Shanghai, China on this September. The FC Pro Champions Cup will feature FC Mobile, with the FC Pro Mobile Festival also being held on the same stage, with a slightly different timeline.

FC Pro Champions Cup will be the pinnacle of the 2025 competitive circuit, where the esports community will watch four days of FC Mobile and FC Online competition. Besides, a separate festival will take place for the creators and pros from worldwide.

After an impressive debut for FC Mobile and FC Online esports in 2024, we’re meeting that enthusiasm with two back-to-back events that continue to raise the stakes,” said Sam Turkbas, Senior Director, Esports Product, EA.

FC Pro Champions Cup: Schedule and Format

The mobile event will take place in a single stage from September 9th to 11th. Competitors must be at least 16 years old at the time of registration. The Knockout Stage will feature six participants who have qualified from Domestic Qualifying Events in a Group Stage.

The Stage consists of a single round robin format. Each participant will play a match consisting of two games with the other opponents within the same group once. The top two will advance to the playoffs. These remaining four will meet each other in a cross-style league.

The winner of the matches will fight in the semi-finals to step into the finals. On the other hand, the losers will face off again to get a last chance, which will take place against the loser of the first semi-final. Here’s a quick schedule of the events:

Prize Pool

The overall size of the prize pool for both events is huge. A total of $365,000 is allocated for the teams, and they can grab larger portions based on their rankings. Top-tier teams and pros will face off in a week-long celebration of esports and modern football fandom.

The event will take place in the Jingwu Gymnasium in the Hongkou District, Shanghai, China. But the mobile prize pool is smaller, $60,000 in total. Here’s a breakdown of the prize pool:
